WitZend - September 19th!

I’m thrilled to announce that I will be venturing to the Westside to play at WitZend in Venice on September 19th!

This show is doubly thrilling to me: firstly, it’s the day after my birthday, so I’d love for you all to come celebrate with me! Secondly, this show is a songwriters round with three incredible songwriters that have been wonderful friends to me for two years now.

Please come out and see me, Melinda Ortner, Rachel Borovik, and Melissa Rapp play in the round from 7-9pm!

This Monday - Bar Lubitsch!

Come on out to Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood on this Monday, November 7th, for some music, fun, and, of course, potato vodka! Or, you know, beer. Or soda. Whatever you want to drink, really, it’s up to you because the cover charge is only $5! Yes, you read that correctly! Five bucks for a whole night’s worth of music!

I will be playing at 8pm for half an hour, and I hope to see you then!

SHOW TOMORROW NIGHT IN PASADENA!

Come out to the POP Champagne and Dessert Bar (come on, isn’t the name enough to make you want to go?) in Old Town Pasadena to see me play alongside three other singer/songwriters in a round! For those who don’t know, a “songwriter round” is when three or more singer/songwriters take turns playing songs, as opposed to each person having their own set. We will each be playing about six songs, telling some stories, and drinking some champagne!

For more information, check out the event page on Facebook!

I took this picture earlier tonight when I went grocery shopping. This is easily the most ominous weather I’ve seen since moving to L.A., and on the way back from Whole Foods, I saw a flash of lightning. Still, no rain. After living in Boston for three years, the consistency of this biome is staggering.

The Westward Move

Yes, I’m terrible at blogging. I’ve admitted it hundreds of times, and will admit it one more. As much as I love to write and struggle to squeeze maxims into 140-character spaces, I find the idea of a blog to be daunting. That being said, I’m going to make an effort to improve on it. Again.

Two weeks ago today, I boarded a plane in Boston with three suitcases, a backpack, and my guitar and headed out to Los Angeles. Seven other boxes packed full of crap were shipped, too. It just sounds more poetic the other way.

Now, I’ve spent the past couple weeks exploring what West Hollywood and the surrounding areas have to offer. I’ve walked (and hated) the Universal CityWalk. I almost died trying to escape the crowd for Motley Crue at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. I saw my four-year-old cousin encased in a giant bubble in the Hollywood Hills. I got a job babysitting the kids from Revolutionary Road. And they’re awesome. All in all, I think it’s been a great two weeks.

I’m working on getting some new demos finished. I have a few songs that I’m working on at the moment, and I hope I get to share them with you soon!
